Clear Channel's internship program offers opportunities in the several areas, which are listed below. Our internships offer meaningful educational and work experiences designed to meet the academic and career goals of the intern. Our management will teach and encourage, but it's up to the student to bring an enthusiasm to learn.

Because internships at Clear Channel are learning experiences, they are unpaid.
 
Eligibility: Applicants must be

-at least 18 years of age
-currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
-able to provide a signed letter from the student's school stating that the student will be granted credit for the internship
-enrolled in communications/broadcasting, journalism, advertising or related courses.

Any internship at Clear Channel does not secure employment upon graduation. Internships are offered year-round. Internship is expected to reflect the length of the student's semester. Once offered an internship, start dates and hours worked are mutually agreed upon by intern supervisor and the student. Clear Channel reserves the right to terminate a student's internship at any point for reasons such as misconduct, poor attendance, insubordination or other serious problems.

610 WIOD SPORTS/MIAMI HEAT
TITLE:                       Miami Heat Intern
DEPARTMENT:      NewsRadio 610 WIOD
 
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   
You will be responsible for covering all aspects of the Miami Heat related programming and events. Basically if it’s Heat related, you will be required to be there to cover the event. You will be required to gather audio for the Miami Heat local pre-game and post game programming for WIOD and the Heat Network as well. This position will not be just limited to gathering audio but also, learning all aspects of doing a live network broadcast, and radio production skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be reliable, flexible, and above all eager to learn. This is not a job for you, if you are afraid of the public or being in a “high profile position”. Neat appearance, good social and organizational skills are essential and of course, some knowledge of basketball. You will need to be capable of multi-tasking and work under high stress situations. Computer skills and the ability to work nights, weekends, and some mornings is a must.

Graphic Artist Intern
 
Clear Channel’s Art Department is seeking a passionate hard working individual to gain experience while displaying their talents as a design Intern for eight of South Florida’s hottest radio stations.
 
JOB DUTIES: Assist in handling various details of the daily operation of graphics within the promotions department. i.e. Design creative pieces for Flyers, Contest entry box signage, Banners, Posters, Media kits, Ads and various presentation displays. Scanning, cutting and pasting will also be required. Candidate must be able to work on the Mac OSX system and also be fully proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator; Microsoft Power Point and Word; any additional software knowledge will be a plus. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Only Junior or senior students pursuing a degree in graphic design or related field and receiving college credit for internship should apply. A design test will be given.
Hours: Maximum of 12 hours per week must have a flexible schedule.

NewsRadio 610 WIOD - NEWS DEPARTMENT
JOB DUTIES: Work with News Director and Reporters. Gather information and research stories used for newscasts, pull stories from news wires, write stories for air, Learn to operate audio editing equipment, Take feeds from reporters in the field. Candidate should be computer literate and have interest in broadcast journalism and current events. Writing skills a plus.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

JOB DUTIES: Event preparation, executing street events at high-traffic locations, light set-up work (sound system, table, tents, and banners), meet-n-greet listeners at events, organizing prize distribution, communicating information to winner’s regarding prizes won and labeling prizes.
 
SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong people-skills, excellent telephone manner, upbeat-friendly attitude/personality, ability to handle crowds, light manual labor ability (lift small-medium size speakers), must be able to work in all kinds of weather (rain, heat, etc), organizational skills, MS Word/Excel knowledge a plus.
